FRANK LAFFERTY Obituary

Frank A. Lafferty, Sr. Age 79 of Kaolin, PA passed away November 23, 2002 at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE after a long illness. A 1941 graduate of Kennett Consolidated High School and a WWII veteran, he was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944. Frank was a 2nd generation mushroom farmer for 36 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling and restoring antique cars and tractors. He was a charter member of the Hockessin VFW Post #5892, the Knights of Columbus and a member of the American Mushroom Institute. He was also a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church of Hockessin. He was preceded in death by sons, Donald and Kevin. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlene Baker Lafferty; son, Frank A. Lafferty, Jr. of SC; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susan Lafferty of Hockessin; daughter, Janet Lafferty; 7 grandchildren, Dennis and Kevin Reagan, Arlene, Marlena, Mark Jr., Frank III and Dillon Lafferty; and 2 great grandchildren, Amanda and Megan Reagan' sisters, Mary Gregg of Hockessin; Rita Brackin of Wilmington; brothers, Edward M. and Philip, both Kaolin, PA; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 26 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Hockessin with burial in St. Patrick's at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, DE. Friends may call Tuesday from 9-11 am at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin.
